hms helps

HMS Helps is our corporate-sponsored, employee-run volunteer and charity program. It's a robust and nationwide network that enriches the lives of our employees while bettering the communities in which they live and work. The program began in 2009 and was immediately embraced by HMS's executive team and offices coast-to-coast.

food driveThe program encourages employees to give both volunteer hours and donations of cash or goods such as food and clothing. Since its inception, HMS's Corporate Responsibility program:

  • Engaged 35 active, participating office locations
  • Orchestrated 110 events
  • man plantingRaised more than $55,000 in employee contributions
  • Initiated volunteer paid time off for charitable efforts
  • Collected nearly 1,200 lbs. of food
  • Donated 64 units of blood and counting
  • Donated 470 items of clothing – from coats to shoes to prom dresses

relay for lifeLeading by example, HMS's CEO has walked for Autism, helped build homes for Habitat for Humanity, and participated in numerous local food drives.

Corporate Donations
In 2010, HMS matched donations made to charitable organizations, contributing to more than 20 organizations with social causes ranging from the fight against hunger to the search for a cure for cancer. HMS also made a 2010 Holiday Season Donation to Feeding America, the nation's leading hunger relief charity, in lieu of sending a holiday card.

Volunteer Paid Time Off (PTO)
hms on stepsHMS recently implemented a Volunteer Paid Time Off (PTO) policy to further encourage employees to give back to their communities. Employees get time off to volunteer for a charitable organization or program of their choice.
